The equipment are used in depositing tank of water purifying plants to remove the sludge deposited on the tank bottom. According to the type of the depositing tank, the equipment can be classified as two kinds: 1. Sludge sucker in flat-flow depositing tank; 2. Sludge sucker in slant-pipe depositing tank.

CHARACTERISTIC
B/HXN series sludge sucker is a new generation of sucker designed on the domestic operation experience and new elements. It has been granted the patent of utility model (patent number: ZL972 35932. X). It has the following characteristics: 1. To adopt the imported Germany technology of non-block submersible pump to suck sludge, to be able to operate at all lift, nice function, light weight, without the defects of abrasion due to the vibration and difficulty of installation and maintenance. 2. To adopt our company special submersible of small power and each pump only has one intake. In case of the process of lengthways outlet trough and its column in the water outlet of depositing tank, the sucker can move without any impediment so as to ensure the effect of sludge removing in the full length. 3. Water and power are saved due to dual function of pump/siphon adopted. In case that there are conditions to use siphon to remove sludge in the depositing tank, operation can be transferred from pump to siphon due to the level differential between the outlet weir and the sludge outlet after the pump has bring out sludge and electric power is cut off. That shall save water and power and the vacuum device. 4. Because there is no vacuum device, operation is simple and easy to fulfill automation and management by computer. 5. The structure of the main beam is reasonable. For the sludge sucker in flat-flow depositing tank of long span, combining beam of L type is adopted. For the sludge sucker in slant pipe depositing tank of middle and shout span, beam of single pipe, double pipes or merchant steel is adopted. Especially in the second case, the sludge transmitting pipe is also used as support part so as to save material and to be easy to maintain. 6. New type of driver. Reducer, the key part of the driver is the advanced shaft mounted. Unnecessary aligning the centreline, easy to install, compact structure, high efficiency and low weight.
STRUCTURE AND OPERATION PRINCIPLE
As shown in diagram 1 and 2, the equipment is composed of sludge sucking and transmitting system formed by several non-block submersible pumps, valve for air inlet and flow blocking, main beam, side beams, driver, control panel, rail, etc. The main beam shall be driven by the driver on the two side beams to move along the rail on the tank top. The submersible pump moving with the main beam shall suck the sludge deposited on the tank bottom and transmit it to the sludge ditch through the sludge pipe. In case that there are conditions to use siphon to remove sludge in the depositing tank, or the level differential is no less than 3m between the outlet weir of the depositing tank and the sludge outlet, operation can be transferred from pump to siphon after the pump has bring out sludge and electric power is cut off. When the sludge removing is required to stop, the valve of air inlet can be opened and air shall enter the sludge transmitting pipe to stop the siphon process and to stop the sludge removing.
